The University of the Punjab on Thursday conferred Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees upon ten of its researchers, recognising their advanced scholarship across a wide spectrum of academic disciplines from natural sciences to humanities.
The announcement from the university confirmed the successful completion of doctoral studies for candidates in various specialised fields. In the sciences, degrees were bestowed upon Hina Liaquat in Chemistry, Zaheer Abbas in Molecular Biology, and Maimoona Ilyas in Botany.
The field of education saw three academics earn their doctorates: Mehwish Jabeen Ashfaq in Education, alongside Akram Maqbool and Sonia Farid, who both received their degrees in Special Education.
Further underscoring the academic breadth, doctorates were also awarded to Adeel Ur Rehman in Sociology, Maria Maqsood in Arabic, Tayyaba Hussain in Home Economics (Housing, Home Management and Interior Design), and Shamsa Hashmi in Sports Sciences and Physical Education.
