Rally staged in Thatta against sacking of five HESCO employees

All Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Workers Union took out a rally here on Monday in protest against the sacking of five employees from HESCO Thatta.

The rally began at the HESCO office in Makli and culminated with a sit-in on the main national highway.

Union leaders Waheed Rind, Nek Muhammad Khosa, Imran Mughal, and a large number of employees participated in the protest. During the speeches, the leaders criticized the HESCO administration for allegedly harassing lower-level employees without justification, noting that five linemen were removed from service without any reason.

The leaders also complained that employees were not being paid their travel allowances and were being harassed with show-cause notices. They demanded the reinstatement of the dismissed employees and an end to the issuance of these notices. The union warned that if their demands were not met, they would escalate the protest.
