In an effort to bolster the ongoing anti-polio eradication campaign, a rally was taken out in Thatta on Sunday.
The rally was led by Provincial Minister Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi, District Health Officer (DHO) Syed Safdar Shah, and UNICEF’s Communication Officer Syed Sajjad Haider Shah.
It commenced from the DHO office and concluded at the main gate, with a significant number of health department staff and UNICEF representatives participating.
Addressing the rally, Shirazi emphasized the need to intensify efforts to make the polio campaign more effective in the region. He lauded the dedication of polio workers in combating this debilitating disease and stressed the importance of ensuring their safety and security.
‘The administration must prioritize the protection of polio workers who are tirelessly serving the community. The teams reaching remote areas, including forests, deserve full support from the local population,’ he said.
The minister urged residents of far-flung areas to welcome polio teams and cooperate with them wholeheartedly, underscoring that such collaboration is crucial to eliminating polio from the region.
