Rally taken out in Hyderabad to mark International Human Rights Day

An awareness rally was organized by the District Administration of Hyderabad under the supervision of ADC-1 Abdul Khaliq Baloch to observe International Human Rights Day. The rally started from Shehbaz Building and ended at the State Bank of Hyderabad.

Speaking to the media, the Additional Deputy Commissioner emphasized the district administration’s commitment to promoting equality and safeguarding basic human rights. He highlighted the collaboration with human rights organizations and NGOs to address issues such as child labor, violence against women, and other violations of fundamental rights.

He also pointed to the written inclusion of human rights in Pakistan’s constitution as proof of society’s respect for international humanitarian laws. He reaffirmed the administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards human rights violations, stating that the district administration is proactive in holding violators accountable.

Senior Psychologist from the Women Development Department, Sayeda Qurat ul Ain Shah, remarked that December 10th is celebrated globally as International Human Rights Day, following the passage of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations.

She emphasized the importance of safeguarding the rights of all individuals, regardless of their religion, race, or background. She also noted that ensuring the rights of women and children is crucial for a healthy and balanced society. This day, she said, serves as a reminder to raise awareness about fundamental human rights.

Kashif Bajeer, a member of the Provincial Human Rights Vigilance Committee, praised the government and district administration for their cooperative efforts in protecting human rights. He noted that awareness rallies like this one play an important role in educating citizens about their basic rights.

The rally saw participation from civil society members, media representatives, and various government departments, all carrying banners and placards to promote human rights awareness.
