A prestigious reception ceremony was held in Karachi by the Sindh Olympic Association in honor of the Pakistani team, the silver medalists of the 16th West Asia Baseball Cup. During the ceremony, the Secretary-General of the Pakistan Federation Baseball, Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, highlighted the federation’s performance and future plans in a press briefing.
At the event, honorary shields were presented to officials, including international umpire Zubair Wattoo, while the President of the Sindh Baseball Association, Muhammad Mohsin Khan, presented bouquets to the players. Syed Fakhar Ali Shah requested financial support from the government to enable preparations for the Asian Baseball Championship.
In the West Asia Baseball Cup, Pakistan’s team defeated India 14-1 and secured the silver medal after a loss to Palestine in the final. This success has qualified the team for the Asian Baseball Championship, for which funding of 20 million rupees is required.
The federation announced the launch of a nationwide program aimed at discovering the fastest pitchers, beginning in Karachi. The Sindh Baseball Association committed to making significant efforts to promote baseball.
The federation also highlighted the performance of women and requested the inclusion of a women’s baseball event in the National Games. On this occasion, the Secretary of the Sindh Olympic Association, Ahmed Ali Rajput, also supported the inclusion of women’s baseball in the National Games.
