The Commissioner of Sukkur Division on Wednesday directed the authorities to complete the renovation and restoration work of the Emergency Department of Civil Hospital Sukkur as soon as possible, stressing the need for swift action to upgrade this important public health facility.

The directive was issued today during a meeting at the Commissioner’s Office, where a delegation of consultants from Medline Enterprises, Karachi, led by the hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr. Ikhtiar Hussain Mirani, briefed Abid Saleem Qureshi on the upcoming project.

The visiting delegation informed the Commissioner about the comprehensive plans for a complete transformation of the emergency wing. They also provided an update on the operational capacity, which includes the availability of standard ECG and X-ray machines, other state-of-the-art medical equipment, and the supply of oxygen gas.

In response, Commissioner Qureshi directed the team to prepare and submit a formal proposal based on two to three different working plans. He specified that these plans should be developed in consultation with experts in the relevant field to ensure a comprehensive strategy.

The Sukkur Commissioner stated that the most effective and best plan from the submitted proposals will be selected and finalized for implementation.
