Residents of Jhimpir protest against attempts to seize ancestral land

Residents of Jhimpir, belonging to the Machhi community, protested here today against alleged attempts to forcibly seize their ancestral lands. The protesters gathered at the National Press Club Thatta, accusing Hashim Solangi of exerting extreme pressure to take over their village.

The protesters, including community members Muhammad Rahim Machhi, Muhammad Khan Machhi, and Muhammad Urs Machhi, reported that Solangi’s associates have repeatedly attacked their village, injuring both men and women. They expressed concerns about their safety and showed apprehension over the local law enforcement’s negligence.

Despite multiple appeals to the police, the villagers claim that their complaints have not been formally acknowledged or resolved, leaving them in a precarious situation.

The Machhi community is demanding intervention from higher authorities to provide them protection and ensure legal action against those responsible for the attacks. They seek justice and security for their village and its inhabitants.
