LARKANA: The members of Government Retired Employees Welfare Association took out a rally and held a protest demonstration in Larkana on Monday for acceptance of their justified demands which have already been ordered by the apex court and implemented by all other three provinces but are denied only by the Sindh government.
The participants including Abdul Latif Ujan, Imamuddin Solangi, Muhammad Mithal Shaikh, Ghulam Murtaza Jakhro, Imdad Ali Abbasi, and Shahnawaz Jamali marched from Pakistani Chowk to Jinnah Bagh of the city, chanting slogans against the injustice.
They told media persons that they had been deprived of their rights since long by the provincial rulers including payment of group insurance, benevolent fund and 10% increase in monthly pension announced by the Prime Minister in the budget. They said that non-implementation of these commitments would deprive the rulers of thousands of precious votes in the upcoming general elections which would be very unfortunate.
They said three provinces had paid those amounts to their retired employees but the Sindh government was avoiding to pay the same despite apex court’ order. They once again urged the provincial rulers to immediately pay group insurance, benevolent fund amount and a 10% increase in monthly pension as declared by the PM or earn their curses.
