NAUNDERO: A protest was held in front of a local press club against the officials of Sindh Workers Welfare Board, Regional Office, Larkana, here on Thursday by the leaders of Upper Sindh Rice Factories Workers Union led by Murtaza Korai, Hajan Lashari, Andal Lashari, Najeeb Lashari, Asghar Gancho and others who were holding banners and placards in their hands and shouting slogans for acceptance of their demands.
While talking to the media, they alleged that the officials of the regional office of the Sindh Workers Welfare Board, Larkana, have heated up the market of corruption by taking fake people as workers. They said that 95 flats have been allotted to people who are not workers or labourers. Death grants for deceased workers, dowry funds of daughters are given to the original workers after taking bribes, and the rest are given to the people they like by filling in the forms and accepting illegal gratification from them or on political influence which should be strongly condemned.
They said that in Karachi, 7 officials of Sindh Workers Welfare Board have been suspended in the case of corruption and the allotments given by them to unrelated people should be canceled and they should be given to the original beneficiaries on merit. They demanded that the original workers should be registered and allotted flats to them and the corruption on death grant, dowry funds should be eliminated and the problems of the workers should be solved immediately otherwise their protests shall continue.
