Agha Rohullah Mehdi, a Member of the Indian Parliament, today welcomed the approval of the resolution by the Legislative Assembly of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir for the restoration of Kashmir’s special status.
According to a Kashmir Media Service report, Rohullah, speaking to reporters in Srinagar, expressed gratitude towards Omar Abdullah and his government for the approval of the resolution. However, he emphasized that the struggle is not over, and that today, the Assembly has merely opened a door.
Rohullah noted that the majority of the Assembly members supported the resolution. He criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stating that it was trying to lecture the Speaker on their role while forgetting how they were treated in Parliament.
He further stated that he does not recognize the office of the Lieutenant Governor and considers it meaningless in a democratic government.
