A scholarship distribution ceremony was held at the Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) in Tandojam, where 54 undergraduate scholars received cheques under the Sindh Educational Endowment Fund (SEEF), a Government of Sindh initiative. The event, hosted in the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, was chaired by Dr. Fateh Marri, Vice Chancellor of SAU.
Dr Marri emphasized the significance of education and research in today’s competitive world. ‘Without dedication to hard work and academic excellence, it is impossible to secure a place in the private or public sectors,’ he stated.
He further said that the university was committed to empowering students through various initiatives, such as those under the Student Support Services, which offer financial assistance, literacy training, and other vital opportunities.
Prof Dr Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar, Director of University Advancement and Financial Assistance, highlighted the role of the Student Financial Aid Office in securing scholarships and raising awareness of financial assistance programs. He urged sponsors and philanthropists to contribute to these initiatives, ensuring more opportunities for deserving students.
Syed Nauman Ali Shah, Deputy Director, shared updates on the USAID-funded Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA), emphasizing efforts like financial literacy training, the development of an electronic scholarship application system with barcode functionality, and a comprehensive activity calendar and FAQ platform under enhanced Student Support Services.
The ceremony was also attended by prominent figures including Ghulam Mohiuddin Qureshi, Registrar, and Ali Asghar Bhatti, Director of Financial Assistance, who reaffirmed their commitment to advancing SAU’s mission of academic excellence and student support.
