In view of Christian worship prayer gatherings, on Sunday, orders were given to increase security in churches and Christian communities, after which Punjab Police kept security on high alert in churches and sensitive areas across the province.
Inspector General Punjab, Abdul Kareem, has instructed Regional Police Officers (RPOs), District Police Officers (DPOs), and senior law enforcement officers to thoroughly review and improve security measures at these critical locations. Emphasizing the importance of vigilance, the IG has urged these officers to personally inspect security arrangements.
Search and sweep operations will continue to be conducted around churches and within Christian communities, as well as in other vulnerable locations. This strategic move is being made to preempt any threats and ensure peace during religious gatherings.
Strengthening the call for interfaith harmony, IG Punjab Abdul Kareem has appealed to religious scholars, the Christian community, and peace committee members to cooperate in promoting mutual understanding and tolerance among different religious groups.
