Secretary visits District Headquarter Hospital Mastung

MASTUNG:,,, The Secretary Health, Balochistan, Abdullah Khan, visited District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) Mastung on Monday.

The Divisional Directress Kalat Division, Dr Tahira Kamal Baloch, the District Health Officer (DHO), Mastung Dr. Rasheed, Deputy DHO, Staff Officer to Health Shoukat Baloch, and Section Officer Health Tahoor Khan accompanied. The Medical Suprintendant Dr. Nisar gave a presentation.

The Secretary Health visited all the wards and units. It was informed that the posts of consultants are vacant, which needs to be filled. It was informed that 5 new doctors for the hospital have been hired on contract to fill the gap. Abdullah Khan, Secretary Health directed that attendance of doctors and staff be ensured. He appreciated the hospital management on the cleanliness and emphasised the need for implementation of the IPC protocols.

Regarding the blood bank, the secretary directed that it may be coordinated with the RBC to have a proper plan for the RBC. The secretary directed that for integration of Reproductive Health and Family Planning, the Population Department Centre located near to the DHQ may be shifted to the DHQ, which will help in the implementation of the Postpartum Family Planning for saving mothers.

The secretary further said that the hospital should play a role to strengthen preventive and promotional healthcare, for which the DHO should come up with a plan. In the hospital, rehabilitative health also needs to be established. For a timely supply of medicine, the Medical Superintendent should coordinate with the suppliers to expedite the process, and the Procurement Cell and the MSD will provide support.
