Severe Heat to Persist Across Balochistan Amid Isolated Rain

Most parts of Balochistan are expected to remain in the grip of severe heat over the next 48 hours, although isolated rain and thunderstorms are likely in several districts, the Meteorological Department’s Quetta Regional Centre said on Tuesday.

The department said a continental air mass continues to dominate most areas of the province, creating predominantly dry and extremely hot weather conditions.

For the next 24 hours, the Met Office forecast mainly dry and very hot weather across most districts. However, light rain and thunderstorms are expected in Khuzdar, Wadh, Barkhan, Rakhni, Musakhel, Kohlu, Harnai and Kalat. Strong, dust-laden winds accompanied by gusts are also likely to affect Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Washuk, Kharan, Panjgur and the coastal belt.
