SFA inspects milk shops in Hyderabad, collects samples for testing

In a citywide operation to combat milk adulteration, the Sindh Food Authority (SFA) conducted a thorough inspection of milk shops and dairies across Hyderabad today, collecting eight samples for testing. The samples were taken from various locations, including Latifabad, Qasimabad, and Hyderabad City.

As part of this operation, two samples were collected from Latifabad, two from Qasimabad, and two more by the Hyderabad City teams led by Food Safety Officers (FSOs) Ishfa Zahid and Mehwish Usman. Additionally, the SFA vigilance teams collected two further samples from the city. All eight samples have been sent to the SFA laboratory in Jamshoro for rigorous testing to determine the quality and safety of the milk being sold.

Director General Sindh Food Authority Muzamil Hussain Halepoto emphasized the authority’s commitment to public health and safety, stating, “Milk adulteration will not be tolerated. If the laboratory results confirm any form of adulteration, strict action will be taken against the shop owners involved.” He also stressed the importance of ensuring the availability of safe and unadulterated milk for consumers.

Furthermore, the DG has instructed other SFA officers to extend this operation and collect milk samples from different parts of the province to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
