Sheema Kirmani presents theater highlighting Sindh women issues

LARKANA: Famous classical dancer Sheema Kirmani, along with her classical team, staged a theater on women’s issues entitled “Har Sailab Say Larnay Wali” at Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Memorial Library here on Thursday, where she presented a 50-minute presentation on women’s issues in the theater. The event was organized by Progressive Thinkers Forum

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Kirmani said that she was very happy that her theater group was under Tehreek Niswan. She said that she was also happy that she got an opportunity to present her theater at different places of Sindh, including Qambar and Larkana, to highlight the problems of Sindh’s women.

She said that the purpose of her theater was the problems being faced by the oppressed women of Sindh, girls and women living in camps in different areas due to recent devastating floods, keeping women away from education, violence against women, sexual harassment, marriage of girls at young age.

Famous writer Dr. Zulfiqar Rahujo, Dr. Sikandar Mughal, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Sindh University Larkana Campus, Prof. Azhar Ali Shah and a large number of students studying in the library participated in the event and greatly appreciated the efforts of presenting crucial issues faced by the women of Sindh through her theater.
