Shortlisted candidates from the Sardar Bahadur Khan (SBK) Women University’s recruitment test for the School Education Department have urged authorities to issue appointment orders for regular positions, warning of protests and legal action if their demands are not met.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Vice President of the SBK shortlisted candidates from Kalat, Muhammad Aamir Pundrani, along with Mujahid Akram Langove, Muhammad Iqbal Langove, Shah Faisal Langove, Abdul Wakeel Langove, and others, criticised the provincial government’s decision to make contractual appointments against vacant posts in the department.
The candidates maintained that the posts, advertised in 2023 for grades 09 to 15, were meant for permanent hiring. SBK Women University was tasked with conducting the recruitment test, and a list of shortlisted candidates was subsequently issued. However, they alleged that the government, under the Chief Minister’s directive, intends to bypass this process by filling the positions on a contractual basis.
Terming the move ‘unacceptable,’ the candidates stressed that only those who cleared the merit-based test should be appointed to the 9,000 advertised posts. They warned of launching a protest movement and approaching the courts if appointment orders are not issued immediately.
‘The genuine right of the shortlisted candidates cannot be ignored,’ said Pundrani, calling on authorities to honor the transparent recruitment process conducted by SBK University.
