A significant downturn was observed in the precious metals markets on the last day of the year, with a notable decrease in the prices of gold and silver recorded for the third consecutive day in both domestic and international markets.
On Wednesday, the price of 24-karat gold saw a significant decrease, with the per tola price falling by Rs 2,500 to Rs 456,962. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs 2,143, reaching a new level of Rs 391,771.
Following the same trend, the price of 22-karat gold also decreased, with its 10-gram price closing at Rs 359,136 after a reduction of Rs 1,964.
Silver prices also followed the bearish trend of the gold market. The per tola price of 24-karat silver was recorded at Rs 7,718, down by Rs 212. The price of 10 grams of 24-karat silver also decreased by Rs 182, becoming Rs 6,616.
This trend of price reduction was in line with global markets, where the international price of gold fell by $25 to $4,346. The global price of silver also saw a decrease of $2.12, bringing it to $72.43.
