Sindh Agriculture University Expands Financial Aid For Students

Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam today decided to increased scholarship and financial aid options for deserving students while bolstering connections with alumni and charitable groups.

This decision emerged from the fourth SAU Endowment Fund meeting on Friday, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal. Deans, directors, the registrar, and the president of SAFWCO were present.

Dr. Siyal highlighted that SAU mainly serves students from middle-income backgrounds, developing a skilled agricultural workforce and driving positive socio-economic shifts in underserved areas. He emphasized that financial limitations should not impede talented individuals” pursuit of higher education, urging benefactors and alumni to actively support the Endowment Fund.

SAFWCO President Suleman G. Abro pledged support to tackle SAU students” financial hurdles, citing his organization’s partnerships with diverse entities aiding disadvantaged groups. Former dean and funding representative Dr. Qazi Suleman Memon stated that initiatives are underway to establish additional scholarship opportunities for capable students.

Director of University Advancement and Financial Assistance Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar stated that the Financial Assistance Office currently offers scholarships and conducts awareness programs on available funding. He revealed an upcoming fundraising drive to boost stakeholder involvement in the Endowment Fund. Attendees included Prof. Dr. Aijaz Ali Khooharo, Dean of Social Sciences; Prof. Dr. Inayatullah Rajper, Dean of Crop Production; Dr. Ghiasuddin Shah Rashdi, Dean of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences; Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ali Abro, former dean; Prof. Dr. Tanveer Fatima Miano, Director ORIC; Ghulam Mohiuddin Qureshi, Registrar; and Syed Fida Hussain Shah, Director of Finance.
