Sindh decides to set Rs35,000 as minimum wage

KARACHI:The Sindh government on Wednesday decided to increase the monthly wage for labourers from Rs25,000 to Rs35,000. As per the official sources, the increase in the monthly wage for labourers will be announced in the new fiscal year 2023-24. In the budget for the fiscal year 2022-2023, the monthly wage for labourers was fixed at Rs25,000.

The Sindh cabinet will approve Rs35,000 as the minimum monthly wage for labourers. The Minimum Wages Board director general had suggested setting the monthly wage for labourers at Rs35,000 given the increasing inflation.
