Sindh government takes strict notice of senior journalist Tufail Rind’s murder in Ghotki, seeks report from IG

Sindh’s Home Minister, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, has taken a strong stance following the horrific murder of journalist Tufail Rind in Ghotki, demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits and bringing them to justice. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Sukkur has been directed to provide an immediate and comprehensive report on the incident, highlighting the urgency and seriousness of the situation.

Minister Lanjar emphasized the importance of an impartial investigation, calling for a transparent inquiry to uncover the truth behind the attack. He expressed deep sympathy and condolences to Rind’s bereaved family, stressing the need to ensure the safety of journalists in the region.

Sindh’s Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, also expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, describing attacks on journalists as a direct assault on the freedom of the press. Shah has sought a detailed report on the incident from the Inspector General (IG) of Police, underscoring the importance of a swift and thorough investigation.

Sindh’s Senior Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, condemned the violent crime, describing it as a tragic and condemnable incident. He reiterated the government’s support for Rind’s family and affirmed that attacks on freedom of expression will not be tolerated. The Sindh government is committed to delivering justice for Tufail Rind, with Memon assuring that those responsible will be brought to justice.
