National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq held separate high-level meetings with the ambassadors of China and the European Union in the capital today, reaffirming Pakistan”s commitment to its strategic partnership with Beijing while also discussing avenues to enhance cooperation with the EU bloc.

During his discussion with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, the Speaker lauded the enduring relationship between the two nations, describing China as Pakistan”s “closest and most reliable friend.”

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted that Beijing has consistently stood by Islamabad in every difficult period and expressed his appreciation for the close collaboration in the economic and defence sectors, reinforcing the status of the two nations as strategic partners.

In his remarks, Ambassador Zaidong noted that the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China continues to grow stronger with each passing day.

In a separate engagement, the Speaker met with European Union Ambassador Raimundas Karoblis, where the two sides held detailed discussions on bilateral relations, regional developments, and key global issues.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq underscored his commitment to deepening cordial ties with the EU, emphasising the important role of parliamentary relations and diplomacy in advancing mutual interests.

Ambassador Karoblis congratulated the Speaker on Pakistan’s GSP+ status and expressed a keen interest in further promoting cooperation between the European Union and Pakistan.

The EU envoy also appreciated the role of the Pakistani diaspora within member countries, acknowledging their contributions to the development and prosperity of European nations.
