Former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Siraj-ul-Haq, has appealed for special prayers for the success of Jamaat-e-Islami in the general elections of Bangladesh, directly linking a favorable outcome for the party to the advent of an “Islamic revolution” and the establishment of public rule.
In the statement, released on the social networking site X on Tuesday ahead of Bangladesh’s general elections, a desire was expressed for the electoral process to be conducted in a peaceful, transparent, and fair manner. The appeal stated that such conditions would enable the citizens of Bangladesh to freely choose their political representatives.
According to the appeal, this call for support comes after “half a century of oppression, severe trials, and unparalleled sacrifices” endured by the organization.
The message conveyed a sense of hope, portraying the current political moment as “the sun rising from the east.”
This potential outcome was further described as “the good news of an Islamic revolution, democracy, and the people’s right to rule,” and the statement concluded with the word “Insha’Allah.”
