Residents of Nasirabad are facing severe hardships as the local taluka hospital remains incomplete even after 15 years, a situation that has compelled the Sujag Shehri Ittehad to stage a five-day continuous protest demanding immediate action from authorities.
The demonstration, organized by the Sujag Shehri Ittehad, continued for the fifth consecutive day on Wednesday. Participants, holding banners and placards, expressed their frustration over the prolonged construction delays.
Addressing the protestors, leaders of the Ittehad, including Senior Vice President Sufi Ghaffar Channa, Asif Katheo, Muhammad Tagar, and Ijaz Ali Soomro, demanded the immediate completion of the health facility. They emphasized that the incomplete hospital has left the local population in severe distress for over a decade.
The organizers criticized the “deep slumber” of elected representatives, the Health Department, and the Sindh government, accusing them of being unresponsive to the community’s persistent pleas.
The leaders of the Sujag Shehri Ittehad made it clear that their protest movement is not a temporary demonstration and vowed that it will continue until the remaining construction work on the taluka hospital is completed.
The protest saw broad community support, with participation from senior teacher Sain Ashfaq Ahmed Masan Solangi, presidents of youth organizations Habib Solangi and Arif Brohi, leaders of the Odhana Muhalla Naujawan Ittehad, Kamran Laghari of the Shia Ulema Council, and other community figures like Saifullah Katheo and Abdul Jabbar Gunwas, along with a large number of residents.
