Sukkur Commissioner Enforces Section 144 to Ensure Fair HSC Exams

The Sukkur Division Administration has imposed stringent restrictions across examination centers in Sukkur, Khairpur, and Ghotki districts to safeguard the integrity of the upcoming Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) Annual Examinations 2025.

Commissioner Fayaz Hussain Abbasi issued the order under Section 144 (3) of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.P.C.), designating all exam centers as ‘restricted areas’ from May 5 to May 14, to prevent malpractice and ensure a transparent testing environment.

The directive mandates that only students with valid admit cards and authorized staff will be permitted entry into exam premises.

Strict prohibitions have been enforced against carrying mobile phones, ladies’ purses, cheating materials, electronic devices, or any unauthorized items during examination hours.

Additionally, the operation of photocopier machines near exam centers has been banned to curb potential leaks or illicit activities.

Commissioner Abbasi emphasized the administration’s resolve to conduct the exams ‘peacefully and fairly,’ citing the need to uphold academic sanctity. Police officers of Inspector rank or higher have been empowered to file immediate complaints under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against violators, which could lead to fines, imprisonment, or both.
