Kharadar police on Wednesday arrested a man with a prior criminal record, who used to harass people by posing as a fake police constable, an act officials said was bringing disrepute to the police force.

The man, identified as Adnan, was taken into custody during a routine patrol when he presented himself as a law enforcement officer.

Suspecting his claims, the patrol team took the man to the police station for verification, where it was confirmed that he was an imposter, after which he was formally arrested.

Upon searching the suspect, a police t-shirt, a cap, a key ring with a police emblem, and other items used in the deception, including two bags, were recovered from his possession.

Investigations revealed that Adnan is a habitual offender, having previously been arrested and jailed in Islamabad in a case related to Section 380 under FIR No. 402/2022.

A new case has been registered against the suspect, who is now being handed over to investigative authorities to face further legal action for his alleged activities in different areas of Kharadar.
