The Sindh government has mandated a significant expansion of its new pension system, directing all administrative departments to formulate a defined contribution pension scheme for employees not classified as civil servants, impacting a wide array of personnel across various provincial bodies.
This move follows the formal introduction of ‘The Sindh Civil Servants (Defined Contribution Pension) Rules, 2025,’ which was established for the province”s civil servants after receiving approval from the Provincial Cabinet during a meeting on July 8, 2025, according to an official information today.
According to a notification from the Finance Department, provincial authorities have determined that a similar contribution-based pension framework is now required for all government staff who are not governed under the Sindh Civil Servants Act, 1973.
The Finance Department has instructed administrative departments to implement this decision and ensure its communication to all attached departments, authorities, boards, organizations, and autonomous bodies under their respective administrative control.
