Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met with Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President Asim ul Haq Qureshi and promised cooperation for the development of tennis in Pakistan. The meeting focused on strategies to promote the sport and addressed key concerns regarding tennis facilities in Islamabad.
Qureshi briefed Naqvi on the challenges faced by tennis players due to the condition of the courts in the capital. Naqvi promptly directed the relevant authorities to resolve these issues. He assured the PTF of full cooperation in the development of tennis and promised the construction of new courts.
Qureshi lauded Naqvi for the successful hosting of the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan and appreciated his commitment to the development of cricket in the country.
Naqvi acknowledged the abundant tennis talent in Pakistan, drawing parallels with cricket, and expressed hope that Pakistani tennis players will gain international recognition. He also noted the growing popularity of padel tennis among youth and pledged full support to the PTF in harnessing the emerging talent in padel tennis. The PCB confirmed its readiness to provide full cooperation to the PTF.
Qureshi thanked Naqvi for his commitment to resolving the court issues and building new facilities. PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer also participated in the discussion.
