Thirteen militants with alleged ties to India were killed during an intelligence-led operation in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan today.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) report today, the operation targeted a group associated with the Indian proxy organization, Fitna al Khwarij. Security personnel successfully engaged the militants’ position, recovering weapons and ammunition.

The eliminated individuals were reportedly involved in various terrorist acts in the region, including facilitating a December 2023 suicide bombing in Daraban, along with abductions and targeted killings of government personnel and civilians. A follow-up operation is underway to ensure no other operatives remain in the area. The Pakistani Security Forces reiterated their commitment to eradicating Indian-sponsored terrorism within the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for their success in the operation. In a statement, he confirmed the elimination of those responsible for the December 2023 Daraban suicide attack. The Prime Minister expressed confidence in the Pakistan Army and security forces’ ability to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan, adding that all government bodies are working towards complete eradication of this threat.
