Pasban-e-Watan Pakistan’s Central President Muhammad Tahir Khokhar has said that the country is suffering from severe political instability and a deteriorating economy, and citizens have been deliberately trapped in an exploitative system designed to increase their hardships.
He said that for decades, hereditary rulers and political parties have been following a “divide and rule” strategy. Khokhar claimed on Sunday that it has become their habit to stay in power by creating divisions among the people on ethnic and class lines, as a result of which a few specific families are accumulating wealth while the people are mired in poverty and uncertainty.
The Pasban-e-Watan president said that the common citizen is now longing for basic necessities like two meals a day, clean water, health, and employment. He explained that back-breaking inflation has destroyed poor and middle-class households, while the elite is allegedly busy looting national resources and securing their assets abroad.
According to Khokhar, the real culprits for the public’s misery are the same political parties that have repeatedly failed to provide any relief to the people despite coming to power. He stressed that the time has come for the people to break their silence and free themselves from the grip of hereditary and feudal politics.
He advised that citizens must now bring about change for themselves, as merely complaining will not solve their problems. Khokhar urged the public to be aware of their rights, recognize the power of their vote, and get rid of the elements responsible for their long-standing deprivations.
Concluding his statement, Khokhar described the current situation as a “rare, precious, and historic opportunity” and warned that future generations will not forgive this inaction. He affirmed that his organization stands with the people and will continue its struggle through all constitutional and democratic means to transform the country into a sovereign, prosperous, and dignified state.
