Police arrested three drug peddlers and seized a large quantity of gutka and mawa in a series of anti-drug operations.
According to a police report today, in the first operation, the police arrested Shiraz Pathan and confiscated 69 packets of gutka, 380 packets of mawa, 100 items of mainpuri, and 1,700 packets of local gutka. Police also seized two mobile phones and a motorcycle. Pathan’s accomplice, identified as Faraz, escaped, police said.
In a separate raid in the Old Mirpur police station’s jurisdiction, police apprehended Aamir Janjhi and recovered four sacks containing 1,450 packets of mawa gutka.
A third operation in the Mahmood police station’s jurisdiction led to the seizure of a large consignment of gutka being transported in a rickshaw, police said.
Cases have been registered against all three accused.
