A one-day training workshop was organized on Tuesday by the Sindh Community Foundation and the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund at the SSP Office Thatta under the supervision of (Master Trainer and Jurist) Iqbal Ahmed Detho.
This one-day program, held at the SSP Office, was organized to enhance the professional capabilities of the police in responding to incidents of domestic violence.
Under the guidance of Master Trainer and senior jurist Iqbal Ahmed Detho, the session focused on strengthening the professional skills of officers when intervening in cases of violence targeting women.
Participants were given detailed instructions on the legal frameworks concerning domestic violence and the specific responsibilities of the police. The curriculum covered crucial areas such as ethical communication with victims, proper techniques for preserving evidence, and procedures for coordinating with medico-legal and social institutions, which were reinforced through case studies.
The event was attended by several distinguished officials, including Additional Director Social Welfare Khuda Bakhsh Bahrani, Child Protection Officer Mehreen Iqbal, and Incharge Human Rights Department Government of Sindh Altaf Hussain Tanio.
Key police officials present included DSP Waheed Baig Lari, Incharge DIB Thatta Inspector Allah Dino Shaikh, and PRO Irshad Mehmood Kadhai, along with a diverse group of officers from the district, including female personnel.
Representatives from the Sindh Community Foundation, namely Yaqoob Brohi, Irshad Junejo, and Humera Ali, were also present on the occasion.
The workshop concluded with a ceremony where Iqbal Ahmed Detho and other dignitaries distributed participation certificates among all the trained officers.
