US Dollar Touches 280.22 in Open Market as Major Currencies Hold Firm

The US dollar edged closer to the 280.22 mark in the open market on Monday, highlighting a day of firm valuations for major international currencies against the local monetary unit, according to data issued by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan.

The American currency was quoted at 279.44 for buying and 280.22 for selling. In contrast, the interbank market recorded slightly lower values, with the greenback trading between 279.16 and 279.36.

Other significant global currencies also maintained high price points. The Euro was traded at 320.01 for buying and 323.63 for selling, while the British Pound Sterling was priced at 369.15 for buying and 373.30 for selling.

In the Asian and Middle Eastern currency segment, the Japanese Yen was available at 1.73 for buying and 1.79 for selling.

The UAE Dirham stood at 75.98 and 76.86 for buying and selling respectively, and the Saudi Riyal was noted at 74.21 for buying and 75.00 for selling.
