We strongly condemn the ongoing Indian and Israeli aggression in Kashmir and Palestine: Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan

Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) has expressed deep concern over the country’s internal situation, terming the rising corruption, economic deterioration, and increasing unemployment as alarming for the public. The party also cited pressure from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and reports by the Governor of the State Bank as reasons for the unstable economic environment.

These announcements were made during a joint meeting of the JUP’s Central Majlis-e-Shura and Executive Committee on Monday. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, during which national and international affairs were discussed in detail.

On the international front, the participants condemned the ongoing Indian and Israeli actions in Kashmir and Palestine. The party called on the international community to take immediate and effective measures to support the populations of these regions, stressing that these issues are directly linked to global peace and human rights.

The meeting also considered the increasing acts of terrorism within Pakistan. Tributes were paid to the officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Armed Forces who were martyred while performing their duties.

The JUP leadership criticized what they termed as policies marginalizing Ahl-e-Sunnat, including restrictions on religious freedoms and rituals like Durood-o-Salam. The council also condemned laws banning conversion to Islam and setting the marriage age at 18, deeming them contrary to Islamic sovereignty. Furthermore, the abolition of certain Islamic laws and what the party termed “encouragement of Qadianism” were also condemned as being against social harmony.

Internal party matters were also on the agenda, with speakers emphasizing the importance of unity among Ahl-e-Sunnat. The leadership pledged to make their efforts for unity more organized and effective and praised Dr. Zubair’s role in this struggle.

The meeting was attended by a large number of members of the Shura and the Committee. Dr. Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, Syed Safdar Shah Gilani, Pir Saadat Ali Chishti, and Qari Zawar Bahadur delivered key addresses, stressing the need for party organization in response to the current national and global situation.
