Muhammad Tahir Khokhar, the central president of Pasban-e-Watan Pakistan, has announced his party’s determination to end hereditary politics across the country, including Azad Kashmir, alleging that a few families have been ruling the nation since 1947.
, The former minister for tourism and transport, in a statement today, stressed that a handful of politicians, feudal lords, and industrialists have seized 98 percent of the country’s resources, leaving the general public to endure hardships.
Khokhar described Pasban-e-Watan as the only political organization prepared to struggle for the rights of the poor, middle, and oppressed classes through “sacrifices and action” rather than slogans. He said that awareness of their rights is growing among these classes, who, according to him, are now an essential part of the nationwide struggle for change.
He said, “We have to awaken the people so they recognize their power; without their strength and the ballot paper, no one is anything.” He urged citizens not to waste their vote and to elect a leadership that understands and can solve their problems.
He described the current system as being stuck in the “politics of broken taps” while the rest of the world is advancing. Khokhar argued that the state’s progress requires experienced leadership that can set it on a path of development in line with the modern era.
The party leader questioned the ability of the wealthy ruling class to understand the difficulties of the common people. He asked, “Can those who own billions in properties at home and abroad, who were born with a silver spoon in their mouth, who educate their children in America and Britain, and who spend millions monthly on their dogs and horses, understand the problems and sufferings of the country’s poor, laborers, farmers, and lower-grade employees?”
According to Khokhar, Pasban-e-Watan aims to send its workers from the middle class to the legislative assemblies based on merit. He claimed that the party’s ideology is gaining popularity from Pakistan to Kashmir, which, according to him, has frightened those “exploitative politicians” who do not want to see ordinary citizens in the corridors of power.
He concluded by saying that “a real change has begun in the country,” and invited the public to join his party’s caravan to make the struggle against hereditary rule successful.
