LARKANA:Police Range, Larkana, has busted 11 criminal gangs during previous three months’ crackdown against criminals and social evils.
This was claimed by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Larkana Range, Javed Akbar Riaz, here on Monday. He said during the same period as many as many as 81 police encounters took place in which three notorious offenders were gunned down which include those who carried head money fixed by Sindh Government and eight criminals were arrested in injured condition.
Larkana Police Range also arrested 828 proclaimed offenders, including 928 absconders and other criminals, and recovered 5 kg explosive material from their possession, one machine gun, 11 KK rifles, 3 rifle, 67 short guns, 130 pistols and 1285 bullets from their possession, he added.
He said during crackdown against drug peddlers, police recovered 243 kg and 725 grams hashish, 339 and 500 grams cannabis, 591 liter wine and registered such cases against them. DIGP undertook to protect lives of peaceful citizens at all costs adding facilitators and harbours of criminals will never be tolerated and they will soon be taken to task. Larkana Police Range consists of five districts of Larkana Division which include Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kambar-Shahdadkot, Kandhkot-Kashmore and Larkana districts.
