144 Majalis declared highly sensitive in Larkana division

LARKANA:A security Plan has been prepared by Larkana Range Police for Muharram-ul-Haram Majalis and processions for five districts of Larkana Division for which 17,927 policemen and officers will be deployed across the division.

According to the plan, 1761 Majalis will take place in entire Larkana division out of which 144 have been declared highly sensitive, 472 sensitive and 1145 as normal. In Larkana district, 9 Majalis have been declared highly sensitive, 16 sensitive and 156 normal. In Kambar-Shahdadkot distric, 41 highly sensitive, 59 sensitive and 138 normal. In Shikarpur, district 20 highly sensitive, 75 sensitive and 830 normal. In Jacobabad district as many as 14 Majalis will be highly sensitive, 172 sensitive and 21 will be normal. In Kandhkot @ Kashmore district 10 will be highly sensitive and 38 Majalis sensitive.

As many as 17,927 police officers and constables will be deployed to provide foolproof security to the participants out of which 3300 will be deployed in Larkana district, 4014 in Kambar-Shahdadkot district, 4622 in Shikarpur district, 2929 in Jacobabad district and 3064 in Kashmore district. The cops will be having support of Rangers and other security forces.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Larkana Range, Irfan Baloch, told this scribe on Friday that additional police pickets have also been established along Sindh-Balochistan borders in Kambar-Shahdadkot, Kashmore and Jacobabad districts and patrolling has been intensified along with snap checking. He said walk-through gates will also be installed and processions will be monitored through CCTV cameras. He said bomb disposal squads will clear Imam Bargahs before holding of Majalis. He said control room will also be established at his office to monitor the entire situation in the entire range.
