254 agri schemes allocated in PSDP

QUETTA:Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has said that time-line for executing development schemes be fixed apart from expediting the process of awarding tenders of development schemes.

These views were expressed by him while presiding over a meeting held here on Thursday regarding progress review of development projects of Irrigation Department and Public Health Engineering Department reflected in the PSDP-2021-22. Khan added that for meeting the requirements of water in future, the early completion of dams be ensured.

The meeting was informed that 510 development schemes of Public Health Engineering Department were included in the PSDP of the current fiscal year while Phase-II project of existing water supply schemes for its conversion into solar system had also been reflected in the PSDP. It was apprised that the project of installing filtration plant in government buildings had also been included in the PSDP of current financial year.

Secretary, Irrigation Department, Ali Akbar Baloch informed the meeting that 254 development schemes of Irrigation Department, including 106 ongoing schemes, 143 new schemes and 5 projects for the development of command areas, had been reflected in the current PSDP. Meeting was also apprised of the progress of under construction dams, including Giskor dam, Babar Kach Dam and Birj Aziz Khan Dam. Meeting was attended by Provincial Ministers, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Haji Noor Muhammad Dumar, Parliamentary Secretary for Information, Bushra Rind, Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Planning and Development Department, Hafiz Abdul Basit, Secretary, Finance Department, Abdul Rehman Buzdar, Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, Saleh Muhammad Nasar, Secretary, Irrigation Department, Ali Akbar Baloch, Secretary, Information Department, Suhail-ur-Rehman Baloch and other concerned authorities.
