Adviser: (Govt launches several initiatives to cope with climate change issue: Amin Aslam)

ISLAMABAD:Adviser to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam has said that the government has launched several initiatives to cope with climate change issue.

Addressing a conference on green productivity titled “Material Flow Cost Accounting” here on Thursday, he said the government has started ten billion tree tsunami project to ensure clean and green Pakistan.

He said this project is being monitored by a third party. He said ban on plastic bags is another initiative to overcome climate impacts, and this step is being appreciated by general public.

He said the government is working on Electric Vehicle Policy under which thirty percent vehicles will be shifted on electricity up to 2030.

Malik Amin Aslam said green productivity is imperative to make environment public-friendly as greenhouse gas emission is damaging environment.
