QUETTA: Speaker Balochistan assembly has directed for holding no sessions on days like Good Friday of Christian Community.
The above directive was given by Chair Mohtarma Shahida Rauf a member of Panel of Ch airmen during assembly session here Friday.
At the outset of assembly session today MPA PMAP William Barkat rose in his seat and told on point of order that Christian community celebrates Good Friday all over the world. Assembly was told for not holding the session today as we are celebrating Good Friday. Owing to assembly session we have to leave our engagements. It has also badly affected our religious rituals.
Dr Hamid Achakzai said Muslims also respect Jesus Christ as holy prophet and regard holy days of minorities.
Chair Shahida Rauf ruled no assembly session would be held on such days like Good Friday.
She also congratulated Christian community on the occasion.
Later she adjourned the House for lack of Quorum till April 2.
