LARKANA: A cruel brother gunned down his younger sister on the pretext of Karo-Kari in Wandh Ali Muhammad Kertio village last night and fled but Naundero police claimed to have arrested him today.
According to details, accused Saat Narejo killed his sister Humera, wife of Humair Narejo, over honour killing and escaped. Naundero police reached the spot-on receipt of the information and shifted the body to Rural Health Centre for autopsy but it was not carried out quickly due to unavailability of lady doctor and the body was kept waiting for over five hours and postmortem was conducted in the morning.
Faqir Rustom Ali Narejo, father of the deceased woman, said that her daughter was married in Kot Bhutto village with Humair Narejo and she came to attend the funeral of her grandmother. He said her brother saw a young man of our community Ayaz son of Lateef Narejo coming out of her home late night and started firing in Ghairat at his sister, killing her instantly whereas Ayaz escaped in darkness.
He said the dead body was kept for fulfillment of legal formalities for over five hours after midnight but the lady doctor came the next day in the morning which should be taken notice. Naundero SHO Shahid Memon confirmed the killing of a young woman over Karo-Kari by her brother and said that accused had been arrested but no case could be registered so far till filing of this report.
