CHK gets first provisional license

KARACHI:Sindh Health Care Commission (SHCC) has issued first provisional license to Sindh’ largest public sector institution, known as Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK).

Chief Executive Officer, Sindh Health Care Commission Dr Minhaj Qidwai has handed over provisional license to Additional Medical Superintendent of CHK and Focal Person of SHCC at CHK Dr Soahil Sehto in a ceremony held at SHCC Office on Wednesday.

AMS CHK Dr Rubina Bashir and others were also present.

Chief Executive Officer, SHCC, Dr Minhaj Qidwai, while talking to PPI, said provisional license has been issued to Civil Hospital Karachi and institution has become the first public sector hospital of Sindh province to get this license.

He further informed that Aga Khan Hospital, South City Hospital, Memon Medical Institute, Orthopaedic Medical Institute Karachi and Atia Hospital had already issued provisional license in private sector hospital category.

Dr Qidwai said the CHK management has been directed to constitute quality assurance council, infection control and waste management to improve overall situation sector.

He said SHCC teams identified deficiencies in this sector which needs improvement.

Medical Superintendent, CHK, Dr Khadim Qureshi in a statement, said that due to tireless efforts of all doctors, paramedics, nurses and o ancillary staff of this hospital, the premier health institution of Sindh, and one of the best tertiary care hospital in Pakistan, Dr Ruth KM Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi has been awarded license by Sindh Health Care Commission after detailed inspection by their experts.

He said management of CHK is committed to provide uninterrupted health services to patients of Sindh and adjacent areas of Balochistan as well who visit the CHK.
