CM distributes laptops among journalists

QUETTA: Despite untoward situation journalists of Balochistan did not show any lapse in discharge of journalistic obligations and demonstrated full professional obligations to disseminate facts to the people. Expectations Government has with Media particularly working journalists were being met. Journalists were providing guidance to highlight problems of people and their solutions and we are thankful to them.

These views were expressed by Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo while addressing laptop distribution ceremony at Press Club here Tuesday.

He said several well known journalists were born in the province who with their pens highlighted security to rights of people and positive political struggle. He in particular paid tributes to Lala Siddiq Baloch a senior journalist who expired in Karachi today and said that in his death a bright sun of Journalism has set in.

He urged young journalists to following Lala Siddiq and other such journalists adopt positive journalism and mobilize their capabilities for development of the province.

He said present era is of internet, Whatapps and email and world has become global village. We want journalists should also move with this development and for this they were being provided laptops.

Quddus Bizenjo said Balochistan is facing internal and external challenges in the face of terrorism. Anti state elements were trying to fail CPEC and other development projects and it is not hidden that Balochistan is confronted with numerous problems. Under this situation responsibilities of Media have increase. He said we all have to work jointly for consultation and consent and positive political atmosphere so that securing our resources and rights we should ensure progress and prosperity of people of the province. He said we are short of time and we have to do a lot in this short period and we need active role of Media for this. It is satisfying that during last 15 days government measures for people’s welfare have received appreciation in media. It has raised our morale and commitment. He thanked social Media, News Channels and Newspapers for their positive and health reporting.

He said by providing laptops to the Journalists we have fulfilled our one promise. He said provision of land would also be ensured soon for journalists residential scheme and government would continue its assistance for overall welfare of journalists. We would also expect that journalists organisations would also play their role in this regard.

Provincial insisters Prince Ahmed Ali, Tahir Mahmood Khan and Adviser Abdul Karim Nosherwani also spoke on the occasion. President Press Club Razaur Rehman presented address of welcome.

Chief Minister announced Rupees one million for Journalists Shuhada Trust. Provincial Ministers Tahir Mahmood Khan, Adviser Abdul Karim Nosherwani, Adviser Kohda Babar also announced Rupees 0.2 million each while adviser Ziaullah Langav Rupees 0.1 million and political Secretary Syed Aslam Shah announced Rupees 0.3 million for journalists trust.
