Coronavirus danger: Registration of 13 private schools suspended for defying govt closure order

NAUNDERO:The registration of 13 private schools was suspended in Larkana and Kashmore districts by Regional Directorate of Inspection / Registration of Private Institutions, Larkana Region, Monday for violating government instructions.

The Sindh government had declared closure of all public and private schools across the province from 2nd February to 15th March 2020 in view of deadly coronavirus outbreak as a precautionary measure to save the children from being infected. The directorate also issued a circular to this effect under which all private schools’ principals and administrators were directed across Larkana Division to close down their respective schools in compliance to the Sindh government notification issued by the Secretary, School Education and Literacy Department, but 13 of them were found daringly and openly violating these standing orders during inspection which was carried out today by Deputy Director Muhammad Punhal Shaikh and Monitoring Officer Inayatullah Chandio.

These private schools include Jinnah Public School, City Public School, Bright Future Public School, Crescent Public School of Kashmore, Stanford Public School, Nazir Public School, New Mashall Public School, Rising Public School of Larkana and others.

In the suspension letter signed by the Regional Deputy Director, Muhammad Pinyal Shaikh, it has been mentioned that inspection committee comprising the officers of this directorate visited schools regarding implementation of the notification issued by the Sindh government. During visit, the letter further added, the committee observed and found that school remained open which showed negligence on the part and sheer violation of government directives. In view of above, it further added, as per clause-8 (cancellation or suspension of certificate of registration) of The Sindh Private Educational Institutions (Regulation and Control) Ordinance 2001, Amendment Act 2003 and Rules-2005, registration of respective schools is hereby suspended till further orders.
