TALHAR:Local cane growers held a protest demonstration against the Ansari Sugar Mills on Saturday for not paying their outstanding dues worth lacs of rupees.
The growers gathered at main gate of the mill for getting justice. They were holding placards and banners in their hands and were chanting slogans against the sugar mill owners for not paying their dues.
Speaking on the occasion, growers Bashir Ahmed and Haji Ali Murad said that they had been repeatedly appealing to the mill to pay their dues but it was reluctant to pay any heed to theirs appeals.
“Sindh government has become silent spectator over the issues of the growers which is a great injustice with them. Their dues are not being cleared which was highhandedness,” they said.
The poor growers demanded of the mill owners to pay their dues forthwith; otherwise they would widen the scope of the protest.
