Demo held for justice in Nirma’s mysterious death case

NAUNDERO:Members of Hindu community, civil society and residents of Bhutto leaders’ hometown took out a joint large rally Friday to show solidarity with the parents of mysteriously “killed” Dr. Nimrita Kumari, BDS final year student of Bibi Aseefa Dental College (BADC) Larkana, and against unprovoked attacks on Hindu temples by mobs in Ghotki.

The protesters staged sit-in at the roundabout and demanded justice for Dr. Nimrita and arrest of all accused including facilitators involved in Ghotki riots. The participants included Mukhi Lokchand, Manoj Kumar, A. D. Bhutto, Arshad Shah Rashdi, Anwar Buriro, Ghulam Hyder Narejo, Javed Bhutto, Sahab Khan Shaikh, Hafiz Mushtaque Kourejo, Maulana Abdul Qudoos Panhwar, Abdul Salam Dharejo, Latif Kertio, Choith Ram, Jai Kumar, Ahad Jamal Dawoodpoto and others.

They were shouting slogans while holding large banners and placards in their hands. While talking to newsmen, they said that the attacks on temples in Ghotki were a conspiracy to launch ethnic riots in the province as the attackers had no religion and were just mischief mongers who should be arrested immediately and brought to justice.

They said that mysterious death of Dr. Nimrita had created a wave of unrest across Sindh and entire province was extremely sorrowful. They said she was not a Hindu but a daughter of Sindh, adding they were waiting for justice. They said in educational institutions, no protection is provided to the daughters of Sindh due to which cases like Naila Rind and Dr. Nimrita continued to emerge.

They said such incidents had badly affected girls’ education in the province which needed to be curbed with iron hands at once and once for all. They demanded justice for Dr. Nimrita and arrest of all accused involved in Ghotki turmoil.
