ITF: (ITF ASIA 14 and UNDER DEVELOPMENT CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019)

ISLAMABAD:The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has informed that Pakistan Junior 14 and under players participated in the second tournament of the ITF ASIA 14 and UNDER DEVELOPMENT CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019 – Division 2, which concluded on Friday at Nonthaburi, Thailand.

Hamid Israr played the doubles final, for second consecutive tournament pairing with Hossain Mohammad Roman from Bangladesh. The fourth seed pair of Hamid Israr and Hossain Roman lost the final 6-3, 6-0 to the second seed pair of M. Alkotop (Jordan) and Kasra Rahmani (Iran).

After conclusion of two tournaments, overall standing of the Pakistani players is as under:

Hamid Israr finished 5th out of a total of 64 participants, who was the best performer among the Pakistani players, while Hassan Ali and Huzaifa Khan finished 09th and 10th respectively, in the boy’s singles category.

Sheeza Sajid finished 23rd out of a total of 32 participants in the girl’s singles category.

Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan, President PTF and the PTF Management expressed their pleasure at the excellent performance of the junior players and congratulated the players and Mr. Nameer Shamsi (Coach) on their achievement. The participation of Pakistani players in international events held at home and abroad has started bearing fruit and, is a good omen for Pakistan tennis.
