Jirga resolves bloody dispute taking five precious lives near Larkana

LARKANA: A jirga held at the residence of PPP MNA Khurshid Junejo in Dhamrah village near Larkana resolved a bloody dispute between Dal and Junejo communities which has so far claimed five precious lives, two of Dal and three of Junejo communities, in the last 10 months, villagers told PPI on Monday.

The dispute started over snatching of a mobile phone in New Amrot village near Madeji. The jirga was presided over by Muhammad Khan Junejo, MNA Ghous Bux Mahar and Moazim Ali Abbasi.

It was participated by Amanullah Dal, Mithal Junejo, Riaz Junejo, Abdul Karim Junejo and others. The jirga decided to impose a total fine of Rs9.950 million on both sides which include Rs3.950 million over Junejo community for killing two persons of Dal community and injuring three others. Dal community was imposed a fine of Rs 6 million for killing three people of Junejo community and injuring three persons. The jirga further held that whosoever tried to start the dispute afresh will be fined Rs50,000.

The gunned down people include Sanaullah Dal, Abdul Wahab Dal of Amanullah Dal group and Sadaruddin Junejo, Asghar Junejo and Rasul Bux Junejo and Mitho Junejo group. On the other hand, reports said that Hakeeman Junejo, widow of Sadruddin Junejo, and Abdul Khaliq Junejo, brother of killed Rasul Bux Junejo, held separate protest demonstrations in Madeji against Jirga and said that blood of their beloved has been sacrificed which is unacceptable to them. They appealed to the SSP Shikarpur, DIGP Larkana, Chief Justices, Supreme Court of Pakistan and Sindh High Court to take suo moto notice against the jirga and dispense justice.
