KARACHI:Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday gave a two-week time to Director General (DG) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to submit a report in a case against former chief minister of Sindh Sayed Qaim Ali Shah pertaining to the illegally allotment of 94 acres land in Malir Development Authority (MDA).
A two-member bench of the SHC, head by Justice KK Agha, heard the bail plea of ex-CM and questioned the DG NAB about collective updated progress report.
The NAB prosecutor requested the bench seeking two weeks for submitting progress report. The bench replied it was clear order that report be submitted with signature of DG NAB. “We do not want Investigation Officer’s report, but the DG NAB’s report,” the bench remarked.
The bench directed the IO to complete investigation until 9th September.
According to NAB, Shah had illegally allotted a total of 94 acres of land to Mehran Society and Gulf builders. The counsel of Shah said that Qaim Ali Shah had cancelled the allotment of that land, which is now under Sindh government control.
Talking to journalists outside the court, Shah said that the federal government would lose the right of governance, if it could not pass the budget.
“In such circumstances, mid-term elections are possible to be held because the government has lost confidence of majority,” Shah hinted. Shah said the opposition should be given chance to talk because there was a huge inflation and many mistakes in budget.
