Larkana cops ordered to improve traffic within a week

LARKANA:The District and Sessions Judge (DSJ), Larkana, Syed Sharafuddin Shah, took notice of frequent traffic jams in Larkana and directed the Traffic DSP Asadullah Shaikh, traffic sargent Imdad Shaikh, Waheed Abro and two other sargents and directed them to improve the traffic system within a week or else you have no right to remain posted in Larkana division.

He further told them that they have been posted for years in Larkana but the traffic system is constantly crumbling and you have done nothing to resolve the issues. He further said that because of you encroachment is made in the city and elsewhere because you deploy traffic cops of your choice at the places of your choice.

He further directed them to take stern action against rickshaws and chingchis who park their vehicles at every street, road and roundabouts in sheer and open violation of traffic laws due to which smooth flow of traffic is hindered very badly and regularly.

He revealed that it took him 30 minutes to reach Allahabad Tower from Nango Shah Pir and asked them, “When will it happen to me then what time a common man would be taking”. DSP and Traffic Sargents assured the top judge of the district that they will take action on a daily basis and inform the court regularly.

It must be mentioned here that the district judge had also written a letter to SSP Larkana to resolve law and order issues. Several reports have already appeared in the newspapers that traffic cops are very influential and not performing their duties perfectly according to law due to which traffic jams have become a routine matter not only in Larkana city but other towns of the district as well where people suffer too. Chingchis are driven by little boys who are unaware of traffic rules and they drive in zigzag manner causing trouble to others and that too without valid documents.

Chingchis have not so far been registered with the Excise and Taxation Department and their fitness Certificates have not been issued to them.by Regional Transport Authority who too are mum since long. The Secretary, Transport Department, has also written many letters to the DIGPs and SSPs to ban the playing of Chingchis as they are running on roads without legal documents but traffic police are minting money hence they continue to ignore such directives.
